How Can I Post Comments on a Topic Here?
In order to post comments however, members must be registered and sign in.
Only registered users who are also members of Blue Mountain Owners Association may post comments and discussion. This will limit input to appropriate persons.
How Do I Register? There are two methods. Method # 1 is done "in house". Method # 2 uses an online identity that you either posses or create. This may offer benefits for some members.
Method One
The "in house" method.
1) Determine the following information:
*Pick a screen name for yourself; you will sign any comments with this name.
*Your BMOA Billing Number.
2) Please send that information to the following email address:
*Info@BlueMountainOwnersAssociation.com
3) Now you are ready to post comments in the following way:
A) At the bottom of every notice there is a hyperlink for "comments", click it and the notice will reopen with an empty box for you to enter your thoughts.
B) In the "Select Profile" menu, choose "Anonymous" as your identity, and type your comment.
C) You must however, "sign" your comments with the screen name and BMOA number from step one above.
D) When you are done, you may "Preview" or simply hit "Post Comment".
E) For anti spam purposes you will be asked to type the letters in the box. Then hit Post Comments again.
F) All comments are then auto emailed to the moderator who will:
i) Confirm your membership via the screen name and number.
ii) He or she will then delete your number.
iii) Determine that your comment conforms to our Comments Policy,
which can be read here.
iv) Publish your comment with screen name only.
4) You may if you wish, include your email address, etc, in your comment if you are soliciting further information or input. You do so however at your own risk.
Please read "Your Responsibilities" near the end of this posting.
Method TwoThe "online ID method", a bit longer than Method # 1.
1) You will need to possess or create an account from one of some specific online services. This is the same as setting up an email account, but has certain advantages in doing so. The most pertinent BMOA benefit is the ability to be auto updated as new comments are added to a discussion by simply checking a box.
2) Create an account, if you do not have one, with any of the following venues:
Google,
AIM,
OpenID,
Live Journal,
WordPress, or
TypePad. Just as when you set up an email account, you will choose your own unique user name and password.
Editor's Opinion: If you do not have one of the accounts noted above,
Google is probably the easiest and most versatile choice for your wider web experience. They offer many free products and services that may be useful to you in the future such as Gmail, web albums, slide shows, voice applications for conferencing, and too many others to name.
Some of you may already have an account on
AIM, while
OpenID is for users who may want to comment on a number of different blogs with a single identity. The rest of the ID services are more narrow in scope to my knowledge.
3) Please forward only the following information:
*Your User Name from the account you created, NOT your password.
*Your BMOA Billing Number.
4) To the following email address:
*Info@BlueMountainOwnersAssociation.com
5) Now you are ready to post comments in the following way:
A) At the bottom of every notice there is a hyperlink for "comments", click it and the notice will reopen with an empty box for you to enter your thoughts.
B) In the "Select Profile" menu, choose your online identity service, log in if you need to, and type your comment.
C) When you are done, you may "Preview" or simply hit "Post Comment".
D) For anti spam purposes, you will be asked to type the letters in the box, then hit Post Comments again.
D) All comments are auto emailed to the moderator who will:
i) Confirm your membership via the online identity you used.
ii) Determine that your comment conforms to our Comments Policy,
which can be read here.
iii) Publish your comment.
6) You may if you wish, include your email address, etc, if in your comment you are soliciting further information or input. You do so however at your own risk.
Please read "Your Responsibilities" near the end of this posting.
Comments will be "moderated", that is to say:
When you post a comment on a topic, it will not be published immediately. Comments are automatically forwarded to the moderator who will then:
1) Verify your BMOA membership as outlined above in Method 1 or 2.
2) Determine that the comment conforms to our comments policy,
which can be read here.
3) Publish your comment.
Your Responsibilities1) Protect your user name, BMOA number, and passwords. If your computer is shared, learn how to delete the browser cache,
in Internet Explorer, or
in Firefox. Mac users,
this may help.
2) Read the BMOA
Terms of Use and
Privacy Policy, as well as the policies of the third party service that you used to register under Method # 2.
3) Read the comments policy
here, or scroll down if you are on the main page.
